And we can make that change a more beautiful prospect. All you need to do is to be Conscious, to Notice all within your space and to Appreciate. Appreciation emanates from deep within the Heart Center and radiates out to the far corners of the Cosmos. Imagine it and it will be.

…To repeat, enhancing your appreciation, requires only that you desire it and ask for it. But this desire must be clear, crystal clear. You must know exactly what it is you are asking—and what you will become when the request is granted. That is the reasoning behind all my long discourses with you.

To increase appreciation, you must set yourself on the path beyond ego. Your ego will not like this. It will fight you, in both overt and subtle ways. It will meet you head-on, and it will sneak up behind you and pull the rug out from under your feet. It will infuse itself into your subtlest reactions and perceptions. It will enter any form you identify with, including those you call spiritual.

If you truly, clearly desire appreciation, however, you will persist. If you persist, you will open the door to mutation within your own body and soul. Here’s my advice: When ego engages you in the battle of Kurukshetra, do not fight back. Do not put resistance into the equation. Resistance, coming from you, is coming from the ego. It is a graphic sign that ego is still in control. The only way for you to proceed is through surrender—something the ego will never understand. It cannot follow you there. It cannot fight that. It has no weapons to fight against surrender.

Surrendering to Source means that you consciously desire to transform your being, your connection and alignment with being. Whenever ego presents its face, or you notice it slipping in the back door, choose the path of surrender. You will be giving to your ego the absence of resistance. You will be showing it that you mean it no harm and that you are not defending against it. Again and again the ego will assert itself. Again and against, this is the way of ego. It is always ready to slip back into control in the slightest instance of unconsciousness.

Persist in giving your gift of surrender to the ego. In essence, you are allowing the ego to be within your presence. You are giving the ego freedom—the gift of conscious free will…

…The ego is a mental-emotional guard dog for the self identity.
Once homo sapiens developed its separated awareness, it began to feel
quite alone, cut off from the continuum of Life. Instinct gives every
other species an innate awareness that it is not alone.

Again, it was a natural development, in that consciousness al-
ways demands an exploration of any new situation. This is part of
survival of the fittest and fitness for survival. The greater Life was
moving toward its own awakening. When the flow of any
fluid—including awareness—is restricted or put under pressure, its
velocity increases. Evolution needed a vehicle to house this more
rapid movement. The human ego was it.

Separated awareness was a new phenomenon for the planet; it
had to be explored and tested. Thus, some 50,000 years ago, mem-
bers of the human species began to sense their individuality. All
manner of challenges erupted; questions and fears arose in the mind
as a result. Out of this turmoil, human genius was born. Both fear
and excitement arose within individual minds and within the species
as a whole.

“As you probably know, the word individual literally means ‘un-
divided’. It seems a strange paradox to me that when humans indi-
vidualized they became more divided.”

So it seems. However, the individual was taking on an arche-
typal role for the whole species. This was spirit coming to
Earth—the story of all the diviners, prophets and avatars. The
wholeness was reflected into the single unit. When egos began to
flourish, the direct connection to greater reality was unfortunately
broken. This was inevitable, but only temporary. The small self felt
isolated and abandoned; its reaction, not surprisingly, was to shield
and defend itself. Hence the ego came into being. Humanity then
fell into ages of relative unconsciousness…

…[I can see my DNA, the strands of molecules, nucleotides and
atoms, winding in their double helix formations. Somehow I in-
nately know which of these combine to incubate the separation in
consciousness, and ego formation. I see them pulsing in a soft glow,
surrounded by dancing filaments of something I can’t identify. I
want to call it light, but that’s not quite right. It’s as though I am
looking into something that does not have existence yet. As I ask
within what these filaments are, something tells me they are the im-
pressions of mutations about to be made. They are the pre-
embryonic presence at the very root of creation. What is this silent
voice speaking to me?...]

[...I ask,] “Where is the Source? May I meet the Source?”

[Immediately I am imploding. I feel myself sucked into the
point of peace riding in my heart. Everything is collapsing into it-
self. All the images of particles and substances are extinguished in
this inward rush. All light is gone. But equally, there is no darkness
either. It is nothing. It is the Void. How am I continuing to relate
what I’m experiencing? How can I be communicating from the
Void? The answer comes, and then it slips away. I cannot say this. I
am now at the heart and birthplace of paradox. This place precedes
all creation and existence.]

“Where is the Source?” [I start to ask. But there is no answer;
no question. Only This. Only nothing. I am at the center point of
everything. It is infinitely empty, devoid of creation, devoid of
meaning, of existence, or qualities of any kind. There is no longer
any motion. All is utterly still. It is devoid even of consciousness. I am
shocked. There is only This. I could call it Life, I suppose, but it is
not like the life that we know in our surface world above. It is so
concentrated and yet so infinite that there is no understanding it, no
defining it, not even slightly. It would be pointless to say any more...]
