It seems to me that our greatest challenge in life is the discovery of who or what is the true self. The True Self, the essence that lies beneath our façade, our story, our personality. It is that which ignites and expands with all our experiences.

Most, if not all religions, want to separate our physical being from the ‘Divine’ energy that we think is God. I’m starting to feel different about that notion. I’m beginning to feel as if there is no separation. If there is a Divine Essence within us then we are truly one with that Essence, the Soul, the Godhead. Perhaps that thing that animates us, which is Pure Consciousness, is the blood that flows through all the animations of physical existence. We would then be nothing more than the atoms of the All, and our singular experiences are really the All’s experience. The raindrop falling into the ocean becomes the ocean, even knowing it is still a raindrop. Its oneness with the ocean is an enhancement of its singularity, not a separate thing. For there is no separation, even when it was floating solo above the great sea. (more…)

Traveling away from planet Earth, on an interstellar transport, I was in the company of 3 or 4 beings that looked like us but had more of a light body present than we do. I asked them why we were leaving earth and where we were headed. One of them, the leader I imagine, told me we were headed to the next step of evolution, on another planet, outside our system. We were leaving earth and its life forms behind. The previous step of evolution was over and a new level was appearing out of CONSCIOUSNESS.

When I asked how we could help the earth and all the humans the leader informed me that their time was over and their demise would not be a painful thing, but a natural jump to the new experience. Not only would all those life forms be gone, but the earth itself would be done.

The leader tells me that it was all an illusion, the earth and the life upon it. That I could manifest a new, more enlightened world, and it would happen if I finally made the choice to surrender my mind to the true nature of my heart, the magical intuitive of awakening to the aliveness beyond all else. Allowing my heart to become The Warrior Heart. This was always the plan. Not just for a few, but for a great many. This warrior heart would have no fear of its mind and its ego plans. Now, doubt would not obscure the true nature of our birthing into Light, as Divine Explorers. My frustration and confusion would dissipate as soon as that ultimate surrender took place.

 It’s inching its way there…

There are those of us who are frustrated, angry, out of step, and ready to throw up our hands in the resolve that the world is just too dense to bust through the ignorance veil. It’s not that we are so smart, but there is definitely a feeling deep inside that gnaws at us. Every new discovery that the reptilian mind is controlling the outcome of life right now buries the stake deeper into our hearts. Now, more than ever is a time to stay the course. When the dust clears, and it will, we’ll breathe clear again and go on our merry way.

Robert alerted me about this video from the 2016 Nobel Prize ceremony honoring Bob Dylan. Watching it I was moved by the passion of truthfulness that is so lacking today and so prevalent during the turbulent 60’s. We were rough riders then. Alive with a mystery to be clarified, of life, and its need for exploding the myth. There were troubadours of light back then. The Beatles “A Day In The Life,” The Stones “Symphony For The Devil,” Phil Ochs “Changes,” Pete Seeger “Where Have All The Flowers Gone,” and of course Bob Dylan’s “A Hard Rain A-Gonna Fall.”

We laughed hard and cried hard then. Tears of laughter and tears of joy were our banner and we dared the stink of ignorance to silence us. They were sly foes back then. The agenda of silencing the truth was a dangerous game. The threat of being chained and bound was the norm. And now we have the result of that time, playing out in the most outrageous ways. A Hard Rain Has Fallen.

This video has a moving moment, of faltering and honesty and heartfelt crowd acceptance. Our personal selfishness aside, we do have the capacity for love. Hey, let’s get on with it!

Oh, where have you been, my blue-eyed son?
Oh, where have you been, my darling young one?
I’ve stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains
I’ve walked and I’ve crawled on six crooked highways
I’ve stepped in the middle of seven sad forests
I’ve been out in front of a dozen dead oceans
I’ve been ten thousand miles in the mouth of a graveyard
And it’s a hard, and it’s a hard, it’s a hard, and it’s a hard
And it’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall
Oh, what did you see, my blue-eyed son?
Oh, what did you see, my darling young one?
I saw a newborn baby with wild wolves all around it
I saw a highway of diamonds with nobody on it
I saw a black branch with blood that kept drippin’
I saw a room full of men with their hammers a-bleedin’
I saw a white ladder all covered with water
I saw ten thousand talkers whose tongues were all broken
I saw guns and sharp swords in the hands of young children
And it’s a hard, and it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard
And it’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall
And what did you hear, my blue-eyed son?
And what did you hear, my darling young one?
I heard the sound of a thunder, it roared out a warnin’
Heard the roar of a wave that could drown the whole world
Heard one person starve, I heard many people laughin’
Heard the song of a poet who died in the gutter
Heard the sound of a clown who cried in the alley
And it’s a hard, and it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard
And it’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall
Oh, who did you meet, my blue-eyed son?
Who did you meet, my darling young one?
I met a young child beside a dead pony
I met a white man who walked a black dog
I met a young woman whose body was burning
I met a young girl, she gave me a rainbow
I met one man who was wounded in love
I met another man who was wounded with hatred
And it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard
It’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall
Oh, what’ll you do now, my blue-eyed son?
Oh, what’ll you do now, my darling young one?
I’m a-goin’ back out ‘fore the rain starts a-fallin’
I’ll walk to the depths of the deepest black forest
Where the people are many and their hands are all empty
Where the pellets of poison are flooding their waters
Where the home in the valley meets the damp dirty prison
Where the executioner’s face is always well-hidden
Where hunger is ugly, where souls are forgotten
Where black is the color, where none is the number
And I’ll tell it and think it and speak it and breathe it
And reflect it from the mountain so all souls can see it
Then I’ll stand on the ocean until I start sinkin’
But I’ll know my song well before I start singin’
And it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard
It’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall

When you watch this documentary, The Music of Strangers, you realize that spirit and music are so magnificently intertwined. You may not be an accomplished musician or even a student player, but, did you know, your heart is the most important part of the orchestra? Because without your heart the music is just as silent as if they never struck a chord. This is a must watch.

It is now OnDemand on HBO or you can purchase the YouTube or iTunes download, or through Vudu, Google and Amazon.

We are now in a state of total flux. Not knowing what or who to believe, we hear an echo of our inner voice, crying to be heard over the clatter of ignorance. The main champion of this flux is FEAR, our dear friend, wrapped in a blanket of emotional instability. Either it’s DESIRE, driven by fear and loathing, or GREED attached to apathetic money-mongers, whose coffers are filled with the killed dreams of pathetic believers.

Wake Up, People! Stop complaining about tomorrow and listen to the truths of today. You have traded sincerity and well-being for false promises. Promises which will turn the face of well-being into a scream of despair. Stop! Look! Listen! Do not step off that curb while the traffic is jetting by. There is time to action ahead, but first pay attention to that inner voice, telling you loud and clear, You’re Being Taken For A Ride.

When the dust settles in your mind, and you have a chance to see the clarity of righteousness, you will again make decisions that nourish the heart. At that special time, the bliss of gratitude will rain down Grace, and we will be free of the tyranny that plagues us now.

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

“You only have power over people as long as you don’t take everything away from them. But when you’ve robbed a man of everything, he’s no longer in your power—he’s free again.”
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

Abraham Lincoln

“As a nation, we began by declaring that ‘all men are created equal.’ We now practically read it ‘all men are created equal, except negroes.’ When the Know-Nothings get control, it will read ‘all men are created equal, except negroes, and foreigners, and Catholics.’ When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretense of loving liberty – to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocrisy.”
Abraham Lincoln, Lincoln Letters

“My fellow Americans,

It’s a long-standing tradition for the sitting president of the United States to leave a parting letter in the Oval Office for the American elected to take his or her place. It’s a letter meant to share what we know, what we’ve learned, and what small wisdom may help our successor bear the great responsibility that comes with the highest office in our land, and the leadership of the free world.

But before I leave my note for our 45th president, I wanted to say one final thank you for the honor of serving as your 44th. Because all that I’ve learned in my time in office, I’ve learned from you. You made me a better President, and you made me a better man.

Throughout these eight years, you have been the source of goodness, resilience, and hope from which I’ve pulled strength. I’ve seen neighbors and communities take care of each other during the worst economic crisis of our lifetimes. I have mourned with grieving families searching for answers and found grace in a Charleston church.

I’ve taken heart from the hope of young graduates and our newest military officers. I’ve seen our scientists help a paralyzed man regain his sense of touch, and wounded warriors once given up for dead walk again. I’ve seen Americans whose lives have been saved because they finally have access to medical care, and families whose lives have been changed because their marriages are recognized as equal to our own. I’ve seen the youngest of children remind us through their actions and through their generosity of our obligations to care for refugees, or work for peace, and, above all, to look out for each other.

I’ve seen you, the American people, in all your decency, determination, good humor, and kindness. And in your daily acts of citizenship, I’ve seen our future unfolding.

All of us, regardless of party, should throw ourselves into that work the joyous work of citizenship. Not just when there’s an election, not just when our own narrow interest is at stake, but over the full span of a lifetime.

I’ll be right there with you every step of the way.

And when the arc of progress seems slow, remember: America is not the project of any one person. The single most powerful word in our democracy is the word ‘We.’ ‘We the People.’ ‘We shall overcome.’

Yes, we can.”

A dear friend of mine sent along this post from In light of the deep appreciation many of us have for Barack Obama’s service, we thought it would be apropos to pass it on. It’s heartfelt and insightful.

With the exit of Barack Obama, we are losing a leadership based on thoughtfulness, compassion, and hope. This was the mantle of our 44th President and it will be sorely missed. As a charismatic leader, President Obama gave us a feeling of calm and resolve, even in the face of our fears and doubts. There was always the glass half full, and although some could not find their way to appreciate his demeanor we were all left with something more substantial in our lives. And that would be the grace he left us.

Now we are faced with an uncertain future. The highest office of this nation will now be infiltrated with bullying, sarcasm, mistrust, apathy and narcissism. I asked Robert to download information from our friends in the future regarding our present state of affairs and here is the answer that was given.

Part One, The Storm in Time

 “Dear Orange and Omis,

“I am sending this request—through normal channels—at the urging of my collaborator, Stefan, whom you know well. We are currently experiencing major turmoil in national and world politics. With the election of a new and potentially difficult president, with a complete domination by the conservative wing of American politics, it seems we are headed backward in our evolution right now. It seems chaotic and demoralizing, especially after what many saw as so much progress toward a more caring world. Would you be willing to comment on these developments and advise us about how to react and act here?”

O’s voice comes through immediately: “I would certainly be willing. These are the times we have described as the ‘Great Storm’. These are actually the death throes of your species and the end of the civilization, as you know it. A heavy-handed patriarchy has dominated your world for all your ‘recorded’ history—5,000 years, plus or minus. Times are indeed changing!

“You are aware that the time frames we work with—in our group of twelve and with the angelans—cover much larger spans than mere five millennia. When we look at the passage of ages, civilizations, and species, we see millions of years at a glance. The cycles of storming, forming, norming, etcetera, come and go with greater frequency than you would like to hear.

“The current downturn and upsweep of your political world is but one of many cycles, great and small, that proceed endlessly throughout the continuum of evolving consciousness. The pendulum never stops swinging, adjusting, and balancing the duality forces at play. The age you are living in now—with its place on Earth—is a particularly intense one, as we have indicated through all our messages. That is the raison d’être for the letters and books we have sent to you. This is a time of great movement in consciousness, a time when evolution itself has decided to bring a new acute awareness to the table. (more…)

In 8 days President Obama, along with Michelle, Malia, and Sasha will exit the White House for the last time. Watching Barack Obama over this past week has been very difficult for me. In him, I’ve observed a man filled with compassion, sensitivity, thoughtfulness and integrity. It’s rare to find a political figure with a few of these qualities let alone all of them. I’ve found my emotions welling up with the thought of his departure. His final speech to the country was inspiring. If many of us see a dark spot ahead of us he sees a light. We have to take his positive attitude about the future of this country and make it our own. All that negative feelings will do will be to attract more darkness to the days ahead. We can’t allow this to take hold. The light that we hold inside of us can spread itself into the destructive tsunami heading our way and calm its crashing waves into a compassionate tide of giving. We have the power to be that compassionate, sensitive, thoughtful being, aligned with integrity and a shining example of the man that led our country with grace and gratitude. We love you Barack. Thank you for your service.

The New Year brings hope to those who realize no man is more powerful than the power of love. Grace touches all who seek the truth.

If we give thought to the process that is before us, the new politic and the new consciousness that carries it, we will immediately become suspect of the future that soul searchers dream of. But this is all part of the illusion we promised to be a part of. There was no guarantee that our illusion would be promising.

It’s all the action of Consciousness, and the game that’s before us is for pro gamers only. That’s what we signed up for, and now we have to play the game better than ever imagined. So what’s the problem?

The funny thing is, we wouldn’t be here if we weren’t the best at what we do. Our ability to laugh and cry, feel joy and anger, this is second to none. We can get through all life’s trials knowing that we control the destiny that is ours alone. Nothing that exists outside of yourself controls the moment, the year, the life that we have taken to be ours.

Of course, some will say that this is a dreamer’s explanation. That these are expectations so grand that nothing could be further from the truth. But that’s the doubter’s way. And the mind of a doubter is the greatest threat to not faring well along the journey.

So, what’s the goal? Perhaps it’s getting through life unscathed. That’s a pretty broad idea, and a wish many are not fortunate to achieve. But it is possible. It’s possible because we have been given an element of design that has a special doorway leading to parts unknown. Especially unknown to our mind. And this would be the heart.

The mind can lead us down corridors of darkness. Sometimes so enveloping that we see no exit, anywhere. So we shouldn’t depend on this mind to give us the light we need to see. We need to depend on the other element, the heart, to open that doorway to light. How do we do this? The best way I know is through meditation. Meditation lets the current in. That current which emanates all around us. It charges the heart and shakes it to its core, with such dynamics that it opens that magical door leading to that inner world. This Is Not An Illusion. For those who practice it daily, or even from time to time, they know that this impression is real. Because at the very moment, the heart vibrates it opens the door to the state of greater satisfaction. It’s the Current of Satisfaction and the Corridor to Grace. Once you feel it, once you live it, your life changes for good.

I’m writing this not as an accomplished soul, or a man living a life of ease, but of someone who is challenged every day, who can wake in the middle of the night and get stolen by that mind of darkness. But I accepted the challenge before I arrived here and I’m not going to lose because of my failings or my doubts. I have reached the first portal in this transformation. I have peeked in and felt the glimmer of peace, the vision of light, the vibrancy of bliss and the grace of gratitude. For me, 2017 shall be a continuation of Conscious Evolution. I wish the same for all of you, as well as strong health and abundance of spirit.
