When music flows through the body and reaches the voice and explodes with an emotion of satisfaction something must be electric.

When music flows through the mind and reaches the voice and explodes with an emotion of satisfaction something must be profound.

When music flows from the deep world of creativity and reaches the voice and explodes with an emotion of satisfaction something must be transcendent.

Lorde for Letters Post(1000px)

O beautiful for spacious skies,

For amber waves of grain,

For purple mountain majesties

Above the fruited plain!

America! America!

God shed His grace on thee,

And crown thy good with brotherhood

From sea to shining sea!

It’s not about the me, it’s about the we.

Lord, save us from the Twitter feed,
Save us from its dysfunction.
Save us from the Twitter feed,
Give intelligence renewed production.
Make those silly comments fade,
Like soot into the sea.
Make smart remarks the healing ground,
From idiocy make us free.
The following was sent to me from Robert, yesterday, 04.22.20:
The article from the Atlantic, attached in the link below, puts words to the feelings many of us have had for some years; it is also an example of outstanding reporting and insight by staff writer, George Packer. His writing describes a situation of life and death that we’re all deeply involved in—both personally and culturally. As much as we may not survive this pandemic—as individuals—our nation itself may not survive—as the republican democracy we have known and loved.

In my waking breath, I start and start again this day’s long pace.

I have a choice to walk it right or throw the day to waste?

Can stay captive to the mind-noise that yesterday I fought,

or carry forth the truth set in unencumbered thought.

I can busy [me,] my self, in the ego-sea of [me,]

or journey to a world of those around who’ve been set free.

Can nod to no importance, ignore beauty through my eyes,

or linger in the peacefulness, seeing splendor beyond the skies.

If my heart is beyond shallow I won’t hear the crying sound,

I’m destined to the sadness of a horrid day gone down,

and patterns that have made Me [me,]

repeating, reseeding, a lost strategy.

This thing we’re all built on, truth and love and willing,

it’s time to set a new stride and keep the dark from killing.

It’s time to offer Gratitude and Loving arms embrace,

it’s time to see our lives are just a wasteland ‘cept for Grace.

“A life without love is of no account. Don’t ask yourself what kind of love you should seek, spiritual or material, divine or mundane, Eastern or Western. Divisions only lead to more divisions. Love has no labels, no definitions. It is what it is, pure and simple. Love is the water of life. And a lover is a soul of fire! The universe turns differently when fire loves water.” – Rumi

[This montage image was produced with a series of photos taken with an iPhone while imagining nothing and beginning with no idea for the outcome. It was spontaneous combustion, through the sheer joy of experimentation and exploration. A photographic doodle of sorts.]

The world of form is enlivened by our senses, without which we would have no response to life. Those senses spark emotions inside us that play with the mind and move us to communicate responses. We are the experience of our perceptions.

With all the shuttering-in we’re a part of now I thought it would be nice to post back our “Journey to 500.” A guided meditation through time, it can be a salve and a calming for our jittered state. So put on the headphones, find a gazing point and get ready for your flight into the future of your mind, your body and your soul.

Listen&Learn

The problem with social media is many things, but the one most dangerous is the loss of our ability to listen. In its heyday, it was a source of fun and togetherness and entertainment. Now, the demon that lies within has raised its ugly head and manifested a HATE system that is tearing the very fabric of civil debate apart. It has brought the ego to participate in the world of opinion, even when the knowledge needed to form an opinion is lacking in strength. We have allowed propaganda to seep into our lives, and without any further investigation, we take this propaganda to be the truth. Our emotional bodies, in cahoots with the ego, form a formidable army against the truth that lies in actual facts about a person or subject matter. In short, we’re lost in the jungle of angry beasts.

Most of us can’t keep our mouths shut. We are the purveyors of information. We rely on tidbits we’ve heard from here or there, and even worse, from propaganda mongers that saturate the airwaves. We’ve lost the ability to listen with unbiased ears. The action of righteous thought is lost in the cavern of ego-play. We’ve become cult-like. Remember the infamous Jim Jones and his cyanide-laced punch. They certainly did drink the Kool-Aid, with dire consequences. Are we?

Now we are caught in a Made-For-TV movie of catastrophic proportions. When the global response should be for the betterment of humankind, instead it is one of continued political divisiveness and dystopic personal opinion running rampant. Our goals are skewed, and if we continue on this path of self-righteous arrogance our outcome is bleak.

I’ve tried to bring to this blog ideas that are centered in a place of Soulful attentiveness, and with that, a mix of ideas that will inspire us, to help broaden our views and enhance our lives. Bruce Lipton is one person I feel can bring us some of that light. He is an American developmental biologist who supported the theory that gene expression could be influenced by environmental factors, i.e. environmental factors have a greater impact on health than genetic research has previously determined. If you like what you hear in this YouTube clip you might want to check out more of Dr. Lipton at his website. https://www.brucelipton.com/

And before you jump to conclusions I hope you will start listening.

From time to time we find those gems that land on our screens and these are not by coincidence. Those of us who either need to hear the word or spread the word are gifted with these moments of insightful explosions. Today they are talking of the decline of our academic skills compared to other countries and cultures, but they don’t describe the immense sensitivity that reigns in our corner of the world. This country is taken to task by the rest of the world for all the smack talkin we do; how great we are, how smart we are, how rich we are and how strong we are. For those of you who haven’t seen this video yet, this one shows how sensitive we are. Enjoy and pass it on.
